About Reformer Pilates

The Reformer was invented by Joseph Pilates and is a unique bed-like piece of equipment that uses springs, straps (ropes), pulleys, and a rolling carriage to provide a full-body workout for a variety of levels and training outcomes. At the spring end of the reformer, there is an adjustable bar called a footbar. The footbar can be used by the feet or hands allowing the carriage to move smoothly. The intensity of the resistance is determined by body weight and resistance of the springs selected.

A reformer Pilates class offers a diverse blend of exercise variety, resistant strength training, increased flexibility/lengthening of muscles, improved alignment, and coordination.

Yet best of all our classes are fun, challenging… (only in a good way) and accessible to ALL!
